Jim Carrey as Scrooge?

So Disney's releasing their version of A Christmas Carol. I'm wondering how far Carrey will take this movie from it's original premise just for a laugh? This movie was never really mean't as a comedy. Besides Disney already made a cartoon featuring Scrooge McDuck.

I think Carrey will do what the directors and the script tell him to do. Jim Carrey doesn't only do comedy

Personally, I think the remakes should end. This is the most hackneyed of stories. Everyone does a Scrooge. I'm just surprised Jim Carrey didn't get to it earlier.

My favorite version is Alastair Sims' in the 50's. He's so curmudgeonly and the film is appropriately bleek before his "rebirth".

That's just me though.

Ross Kemp was the worst Scrooge I've seen, those modern remakes are just sad.
