A handful of Jewish delegates staged a mini protest of Jimmy Carter moments ago, walking out of the Pepsi Center as the former president appeared on stage.
"Boo, boo, boo," shouted Barbara Effman of Sunrise, holding up "thumbs down" as she exited with state Sen. Steve Geller.
"Some people have mistakenly said they consider Sen. Obama anti-Israel," Geller said. "Sen. Obama is very strong and pro-Israel. President Carter is very anti-Israel. President Carter has been very pro-Palestinian, has published books full of lies about Israel and indicating a complete lack of understanding of the mid east peace process. I certainly was not going to stick around for that."

I personally have a hard time getting my mind wrapped around the idea that Obama would be a supporter of Isreal...I don't know, I still lean to the side of thinking that he's more fundamentalist Muslim than he will admit publicly.

And typically the Dems are a lot harder on Isreal than Republicans. My thought is that if we are going to occypy any portion of the middle east, Dems are going to have to take their heads out of the sand and take a stand.

Just IMHO

All things being equal Carter was a good president right up until he TOTALLY dropped the fucking ball with the Iran Hostage situation.....I mean he not only fukced it up...He basically didn't do anything.

I thought he wrecked the economy too.

Every president has had a hand in that or gotten blamed for it.

I have never fell under the belief that you can wholly blame a president for the failing economy.

That is until the current doofus:D But even then, he's surrounded by folks that let him do it, Senate, Congress even his own cabinet.

My guess is they are all drinking Kool-Aid:D

I thought high oil prices were the cause of our current economic situation.

What did I miss?

Sorry couldn't help it.

I have been under the estute belief that the $12billion a day the war is costing us ( that we are borrowing) and the huge tax breaks that have been handed out haven't helped any.

I am sure oil plays a part....I say we all walk to work:D

The tax breaks did help but for the $12 billion a day, you might have something there.

yup he did

until Bush there was not a close 2nd to the worst president in our lifetime

the Dems still think Peanut Boy was a good president.

Nice enough guy but he was absolutely clueless, incompetent and not up to the job.

You now see the black version of Peanut Boy as the standard bearer for the Dems

My impression is that Democrat Administrations expect more of Israel while Republican Administrations tend to give them blanket approval of any course of action they choose. Admittedly this is a generalization. (no wise cracks requested)

Israel has proven for decades that tit for tat does not work.

Basically what I was saying. Republicans basically give them a free ride.
