Jesus,Mary I love you...save souls.

So who is really in the business of saving souls ?
Is it us ?

Yep.

That assumes that some of us are needing saving.
That is not my belief. None of us are ever lost.

If I were a bible believer, then I would have to say that it is to each and every one of us to save ourselves.

This is confirmed here. If you believe that God's will is supreme and that he always gets what he wants.
Strange to think he would not with miracles coming out of his eh, pocket.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

This seems like a much more moral way to go than lining up with the Jesus believers who want to profit from his murder. The murder that was set up by his own father.

The traditional view of saving souls means straightening people out so with God's blessing they are admitted into Heaven. Is this what you mean?

While it's possible, I believe the entire concept of people as God's children, who's parents Adan and Eve, new human beings themselves, blew it in the Garden of Eden and were given no second chance to redeem themselves, condemned along with their children for eternity to live a life of suffering, and then one shot (this life) to meet God's standard and be admitted in to Heaven is a succinctly human creation.

Consequently there is no good reason to worry about meeting an imagined God's standard to save our souls. Not that improving one's self is not a worthy endeavor.
