I am just curious, what do Jehovah's Witnesses believe? What is their basic doctrine?

I can help you w/ that. I grew up as one of JWs, not one anymore, because im athiest. Anyway,

1. God (Jehovah) is flawless, he put adam and eve on a paradise for humans to procreate and fulfill the earth. Now since this is what god intended and he is flawless, Earth will be a paradise for humans to live. For example: If adam and eve DIDNT eat the forbidden fruit, where would they be now.

2. Not trinitariun, Jehovah god is jesus father, Jesus is his son, totally different entitys. And the holy spirit is not a being but simply gods active force.

3. they dont celebrate Bdays or Xmas. Bdays because its held in negative limelight in the buy bull, because only wicked people celebrated Bdays in the buy bull and claimed that its origin are pagan. Xmas because they dont want to associate Jesus or God w/ fictitouis characters such as Santa, elves, etc. and also because of the origin.

4. NO blood. this was a big one for me. The buy bull says not to eat blood, they take it as not having it in your system period. Even as a transfusion.

Thats just a superficial skim, just to get wheels rollin.

That only bothers me when they refuse to take blood transfusions but then complain about the hospital/doctor afterwards for not saving their kin...

The doctors let them know of any and all consequences of their decision ( and they're aware ). Fom what Ive seen they are willing to die w/o complaint because of sincere belief of displeasing god.

And personally, i agree Zorak, u wunna die because of something you believe fine. But what i have a problem w/ is parents who are responsible for their children. If the child wants blood, they give it to him/her, but if unconscience. then the parent will refuse which is BS.

Jehovah’s Witness Bible is the New World Translation which distorts the Christian Bible to support their Watchtower doctrine.

I find these to be eye openers from the Watchtower doctrine:
*The human soul ceases to exist at death.
*Blood transfusions violate God’s law against “eating” blood so they must be avoided.
*Only a special group of 144,000 people interpret Scripture. (who?)
*All religious and non-religious holidays and birthday celebrations are banned, except for the celebration of the memorial of Jesus’ death. (What is the problem with holidays?)

From the Christian doctrine questions:
*Jesus is not created. He is Almighty God. (If he is the same as God, how is Jesus's death and rising a sacrifice?)
*All believers will be able to live in both Heaven and Earth and be able to go back and forth between both places like Jesus did in His resurrected body. (What is this saying?)
