I hear ya! Granted, he get 33 of it and his staff get like 12, but still, it's a good payout! Might be interesting to see him tonight, however his show goes out lol
i heard he has to tone it down with slamming the network

I think Conan was the big winner in all this.. Not only does he look good but he looks like a hero by making sure he took care of his staff..

Was that part of this 'deal/contract' that happened? I just was curious, since I hadn't heard that.

True, I think if people look between the two, he'll seem like the better out on top.

I'll be happy if he just goes away. Of course I think Jay looks bad in this situation.

You will be happy if Conan goes away.. Of course that is why Conan made sure he smelled like a rose in this. He wants to create a rift so that a new generation will love to talk about the days when Conan was at NBC with Jay and all this happened.. It will also ensure Conan can maximize his new contract at a new network whether it be Fox or CBS..

I highly doubt Conan is going to be gone and would imagine this more then likely helped his lagging career.. It was said last night, that nothing helped L:ate Night TV more then this war of words and that ratings have never been better.. Expect a lot more .. :D

I just don't find Conan to be funny or entertaining. I miss Carson because Carson was the best at the late night show. Leno never was as good as Carson. I think Kimmel may end up being the big winner eventually.

I heard that NBC figures they are breaking even because they think it would've made them lose about 40 million keeping Conan on the air versus what Jay Leno would've made them.

I say I am never going to watch Leno after this.

Hey I totally agree.. I loved Carson and never missed a show.. I even have his last show on Beta Max ( yes ) but no longer have a machine :24::24: So in the garbage that goes..

Conan is not liked in Canada.. He basically insulted the country or a good part of it at least.. We could have lived with the insult, its the money we want back.. :D

Ultimately, the criticism seemed too big to ignore, so late-night talk show host Conan O'Brien did what he knows best: He issued an apology -- in the form of a joke.

On Tuesday's show the comedian read a statement intended to quell some of the controversy sparked during a skit by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog taped last week in Toronto. The clip featured the trash-talking puppet in Quebec poking fun at French-Canadians citizens, which some Canadian officials decried as racist.

During Tuesday's show, O'Brien read from a statement that was then delivered in French with English subtitles, for the benefit of the French-speaking residents of Quebec. O'Brien began: "People of Quebec, I'm sorry." As the line was recited in French, the subtitles read: "People of Quebec, I'm an albino jackass."

Other self-deprecating apologetic statements from O'Brien, such as "We meant no harm with our comedy piece the other night," were delivered in French as "The other night, I wet the bed like a little girl."

The dustup began Thursday following a skit in which Triumph hurled insults at citizens of Quebec during a visit to the city. The puppet suggested French-speaking Quebecers "learn to speak English," among other things.

The issue of Quebec sovereignty and the rights of its French-speaking population is a sensitive subject among Canadians, and the skit drew increasing criticism from politicians who suggested that the government seek reimbursement for the $1 million Canadian ($760,000) subsidy it spent to bring the NBC show to Toronto.

Conan: Sorry, Canada, I'm a 'Jackass' - Late Night With Conan O'Brien, Conan O'Brien : People.com

That said, I don't care for Leno either, so Late Night has been reruns of Seinfeld and Fraser lately.. :mad
