It's a new year and I'm working towards a new body...one I've never seen in my adult life. You've rung in the New Year, you've eaten your collards and black-eyed peas, and you've made your New Year's Resolutions. Now it's time to get to work on keeping that resolution to a better, healthier you!!!

Participation is getting better and better every month...thanks, guys!!! So let's keep it up!!! I figure this is a good way to encourage each other to get our exercise in. So the way this works is that you set a goal for minutes of exercise for the month and then *gasp* you try to meet it.

The way we do it on the weight loss forum is that you just make 1 post and you edit it to update throughout the month. HOWEVER, once so much time has passed on this forum you are not able to edit your post unless you're a moderator. So if you will just make a new post once you're no longer able to edit, I will merge the posts for you to make it one post. ;) Please do not quote your previous post in your additional posts as it creates a lot more work than what is necessary just to merge them. ;)

Kick it in gear, folks...time to get exercising!!! If nothing else, you can find 15 - 30 minutes per day to take a walk...all it takes is getting up a few minutes earlier.

Let's get moving!!!

Re: January Exercise Challenege

My goal for this month is 2400 minutes!!! That's right, I'm bumping it up to 2400!!! I've got a 5K in 2 weeks, so I'm feeling VERY confident that I will meet my goal this month. Next month I may have TWO 5Ks, so I may have to bump it up even more.

Goal: 2400 minutes
Total: 2505 minutes

I am in

time to get of the snide and back into the game

Not sure what my goals are yet though

The one thing about age is that you can not burn off calories like when younger.

sheesh you look like you do not need to lose weight

plus your job burns up calories I would expect
My goal is not to lose weight. I am very happy with my weight where it is. :) I just want to stay active and maintain my muscle tone. I mostly do resistance training in addition to wrestling colts at work.showoff.png Oh, I should also add that the minutes I post in this thread are just for working out. I don't include my job.

For those of you struggling w/ a goal, if it's easier for you to say something like "My goal is to work out 3 times a week for 30 minutes at least" that's cool. It doesn't specifically HAVE to be minutes. You can make it whatever you want...the biggest thing is just to get moving and burn some calories!!!

One of my new years resolutions was to start working out regularly 3 times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Also I plan on taking a shot with running when it gets warmer (devilishly cold here :( ).

I'm gonna set my goal for 500 minutes. Hopefully that's a meager enough amount that I can reach it, and potentially surpass it.

Jan. 7th - Played Kinect for ~30 minutes.

TOTAL: 30 minutes.

3 - Walked 20 mins around a store pushing the cart with 32lbs in it.
4- slacked. Sick kids.
5- worked (worked, will edit tomorrow, forget how many I did)
6- 50 mins worked one massage, walked 20 mins in store.
7- worked/ (will edit tomorrow, I forget how many massages I did)
8- slacked, but I did walk around for 15 mins at grocery strore.
9- worked/sweated doing five 50 minute massges at work. (5hrs roughly)

Tomorrow I have gaps in my schedule, will try and get on the gym to work out!

Kids being sick and myself, I haven't done anything other than working... the doc visit I had has given me some motivation after they weighed me.. :(

Better attempt this week! I bought metabolism boost pills!

Alright, everybody...last day to get those minutes in and achieve your goal!!! Congratulations to those of you who have already met your goal. I met mine today while taking a leisurely stroll w/ my mom and dog in the park behind my house. It was a beautiful day out...perfect way to get those last 15 minutes I needed. ;)
