People have wanted the speed limit to go up in Indiana for a while. So They finally passed the bill and began raising the limit on the highways.
Interstates are now 70 and state/US routes are now 60. A raise of 5 mph for each.
On the way home just now (around 8pm) I was doing 73 mph and I was passing people like I was doing 100. I had it on cruise, but kept looking down thinking I'm going way too fast because I was gaining from everyone so much.
Personally I'm split between liking and hating the limit raise.
Reason why I like it;
But now I can do 80 when I'm in a huge hurry and if I get caught it'll only be for 10 over.
Reason why I hate it;
My engine will rev high thanks to the 4.4 final at high speeds. At 70 I'm doing 3800 rpm, 74 I'm doing 4000 rpm, 80 I'm doing 4500 rpm. I really don't like looking at my tach sticking straight up for long periods of time.
I like to cruise around 74 so that my engine isn't turning more than 4000 rpm. A lot of times in the day, that isn't enough to pass all the people that aren't doing 70 and still be able to use the passing lane because of people that are doing 80-90.
