I seriously feel pain with every step that I take. I'm guessing its that syatic (SP?) nerve? But whenever I put pressure on my left leg I feel like I could fall over for like the past hour.. IT HURTS!!!!!!!!!

try rotating your hips by laying on the floor on your back. bend your leg so your knee is in the air. then pull it gently to the opposite side. repeat for both sides. it helped for me when i had those issues.

Oouch! Sorry to hear that. I gather that is one of the drawbacks of carrying extra weight when you're pregnant?

it's where the baby is sitting...i think. At least that's what I heard. It seems to be that when he finds a comfortable spot you can't get the baby to move!

oh hun Im so sorry to hear that youre having problems with that already you have a long road ahead of you, I had some issues with that when I was pg with Morgan but only when I walked for a distance. Hopefully it gets better but Im not real sure it will, you may have to deal with this off and on the whole pregnancy.

Aww, hi.

I know how you feel. I get it every monthly down my left bum cheek and bk of left leg.

I have had it last me for 3 wks - a month before now too. Was worse when I was pregnant too!

It will go though, just gotta ride with it, nothing else you can do - careful how you do certain moves though if you do try to manipulate the nerve - mind the baby. ;)

Pelvic rocking is an excellent exercise and can be done sitting, standing or lying down. Just rock your pelvis back and forth. If you are on the floor, push the small of your back into the floor and then relax. Do a Kegel at the same time. Hold for five seconds and relax. As long as your back is directed toward the floor and the lumbar curve is pushed into the floor, you can do most exercises safely.
Simple head lifts while exhaling (keeping you knees bent) are an excellent abdominal exercise. Walking with good shoes is also therapeutic.

Sciatic pain during pregnancy

Up to recent years it was always thought that bed rest was the best treatment for sciatica and sciatic nerve pain. However this advice is no longer recommended, in fact the very best advisers recommend you keep active, as best as you possibly can.
You should start an exercise program, of which combines non impact aerobic conditioning, such as a stationery bike, or swimming and combine this with a lower back strength training and stretching program, which strengthen the muscles that support the spine.
Sciatic nerve pain and back pain in general always responds quickly to a lower back pain exercise program. In fact exercises and stretches are becoming the number one choice for the initial and ongoing relief from back pain.

Eliminate Sciatic Nerve Pain Now

:D .. hope this helps.

Alicia- you should seriously look into some studio pilates classes...they work WONDERS for building up tendons and ligaments and muscles...its very very low key and ok for pregnant chicks. Make sure you dont do a MAT class though, you want to use a pilates machine. It might be worth it, you will be one sexy preggo chick too, and youll feel muscles you never even knew you had.

Alicia, It very well could be the baby's positioning right now.

When I was pregnant, my little one decided she wanted to stand.. braced her feet and stood.. and when she did.. I didnt.. I could not walk for two days.. first she had to sit her lil ass back down, and then I had to wait for the nerve and muscles to all relax back into place..

Of course the Dr. just laughed at me.. *#&%$*$%($ Doctors anyway
