I had the worst heartburn I have ever had last night. I woke up around 3am with it...and there was nothing I could do about it. We didn't have milk, tums, or anything else that would have helped it. It was so bad, there were times that I felt like I was choking! I wanted to cry! It's better now, but oh mannn did it freakin suck!

Sorry to hear about your pain. I know that sucks. An old wives tale says that if you have heartburn when you are pregnant your baby will have a lot of hair when it is born. Don't know if it is true or not, but who's to say.

i don't know if i'm allowed to drink baking soda? And I didn't know about the raw potatoes...When I was up I was looking through a home remedies book trying to find SOMETHING. But it really didn't give me any good answers on stuff that I had around the house.

Unless you have some sodium restrictions on your diet, I can't see why you couldn't drink some baking soda and water.

Once I got to a certain point in pregnancy we would put blankets between the mattress and the boxsprings so that we'd be sleeping a bit of an angle. It really helps tons with the heartburn. ;)

Yes, propping up or completely sitting up will help. It keeps the acid down in your tummy where it belongs, not tracing back up your espohagus where it hurts.

The potato has gotta be more tasty that baking soda imo lol .. I could not drink that. I can't even watch Mikey drink it LOL.

Try laying in the recliner next time (hopefully there is no next time though). It should help a little.
