I've been against this country supporting Israel blindly for decades. Sometime they will learn that tit for tat does not work all that well. My understanding is that average Israelites are getting fatigued with constant conflict.

Iraq was justified by stuff that apparently is not there.
Israel wants to repeat the issue, but there is a much better chance of stuff existing.

GO ISRAEL!!! the Bible clearly states that nobody will ever take Israel's land from them. and i am a huge supporter of them. i love their tactics and "dont give a fuck" attitude. always seems to work. our government should be run more like theirs. oh, here comes another debate!!! lol. but again, pointless to argue with the narrow minded liberals on matters like these, so im gunna have to refrain on this one. nobody can sway my beliefs.
Oh the irony.

^^^ lol!!!

Israel is a complicated matter, I feel for the soldiers and those in the military more than anything, the majority of them are just there doing their national service.

It's easy for you to sit there in your nice office chair behind your computer and say how brilliant Israel are, and how you wish your government was run like the Israeli's... OK, if your government does ever start forced national service again, and your in the middle of both long term and short term conflicts and wars, then come back. Until then fuck off with your armchair blood thirst.

Personally, I have felt for years that turning Isreal loose was the right thing to do.

I have never thought the issues with them and the rest of the middle east was "everyone elses" fault, Isreal is really quick to hide behind our apron when they get in a bind.

Basically, I think if we drop our support of Isreal, it improves our image to the rest of the world 10 fold.

And regardless of what the Bible says, Isreal is hell bent on destroying everything around them. Fundementally I have no beef with the Jews, not at all. I just think there are better issues to put our weight behind.

looking back through history can you blame a jewish nation for being so defensive when most countries around them have stated at different times that they'd like them wiped off the face of the earth

I don't blame them for DEFENDING themselves....I do blame us for not being a little more critical of them sometimes though.

They are historically unwilling to play give and take at all. They are perhaps just as stubborn as the people they claim to be figthing

Does that matter?

Borders shift all throughout history, Joan of Arc was born in Germany for example but we call her French none the less.

I was just commenting on this statement:

I found it interesting that the Bible would make a statement about a country created in 1948, unless it is just referencing a people.

Ah Ok I see, sorry misinterpretation on my part. :)

I presume he meant the the holy land of Jerusaleum, not "Israel"

Was Israel ever an established country with geographic borders prior to the end of WWII?
Yes. Israel started out as the land of Canaan around 1,400 BC They fell as a nation, losing their independence, around 585 BC and then lived under other rule until 1948 AD.

Israel has never been Israel until its founding in 1948. Even back in the day of King Soloman, the land was known as Palestine if I remember right.
