Well as some of you know I have aspurgers syndrome and tonight I went out for a meal with the local aspurgers group. To be completely honest, and this is probably because of my aspurgers, I found them hard to deal with! I think I find it easier being around non aspurgers people! I can get away with saying this though in polite society because I have aspurgers too. Chris Rock can get away with black jokes that no white person could because he is black. Don't know if this is making much sense but if you get what I mean, do you think this is right or is it a sign of how PC we are all getting that we're losing the plot about stuff like this somehow?:confused

Well, I don't think this has anything to do with prejudice. i think it has to do with realizing people with the same syndrome might have it worse than others, and when people like that come together, miscommunications are bound to happen.

I think Murdoc might be on to something, I wasn't just applying this to my situation but any kind of humour which is generally seen as bad but not so bad when people in that situation say it, gays about gays, blacks about blacks ect.;)

I find that many people with a medical condition have a hard time associating with people who are afflicted with the same things as themselves.

They generally tend to "feed" off each other .. and not act normally .. like one would when around "normal" (used very loosely here lol) people.

Thanks, and I know what you mean. Aspurgers people generally have one specific thing the're fixated on, I pretty much do too but because it's so percific it ends up with a room full of people rabbiting on about one thing which everyone else couldn't give a shit about, it's quite stressful really!:willy_nilly:

its interesting when you have a few aspurgers in an area.. and they all have different fixations... they tend to try to get everyone else on their bandwagon... its really interesting to observe... fascinating really

It is to people who arn't aspie I reckon, when you have aspergers though it's quite stressful, I thought it was literally going to kick off at one point because two aspies had completely missed each others point and were getting more and more wound up with each other. It ended because one of them stormed out in the end!:(
