UK minister's veil comments stoke Muslim ire - washingtonpost.com

So, basically this British cabinet member says he thinks it would be better if Muslim women didn't wear full veils over their faces. And of course, this angered the Muslims. Part of me agrees that unless the British dude is Muslim then he really should keep his comments to himself. But, the more reasonable part of me thinks that he is right in his opinion. Islam is such a degrading religion against its women. I am appalled that these men treat the women as though they are inferior. But, that's just my opinion.

I agree. But in the other hand I'm really sick and tired of our country getting involved with other countries to try and make them 'right' again. I just say as long as they aren't bothering us we get the hell out of all the countries and let them all kill eachother. With what we spend for the other countries we could be helping our own people.

I too was not really impressed by the Hajib but apparently if you talk to the women they like wearing it. Here in Australia many Australian women have converted & started wearing the Hajib because they want to. Apparently most modern Muslims believe that it is an option & they wear it as a show of faith. This, of course is different to Fundamentalist Muslims, like the Taliban, who enforce it's use.
