Posting and sharing raise awareness, but real change often requires action. Does online activism lead to meaningful impact, or mostly symbolic support?

I see online activism as a mix of both. It’s effective when it raises awareness, mobilizes support, or drives tangible action, like petitions, donations, or policy change.

But it can feel performative if engagement stops at likes or shares without follow-through. In my experience, combining online visibility with offline effort like education, volunteering, advocacy, or organizing, turns digital attention into real-world impact.

Online activism is effective. There have been instances when online activities have forced the state to change laws and make people aware of a lot of issues.
