American Idol has been around for quite some time compared to other similar shows such as the X Factor and The Voice. In my opinion it used to be pretty good but now it's not as good. I love watching the auditions because some can be quite funny but after the auditions I usually stop. I have never been a huge fan of The Voice but I do agree it has better talent this year and has had a lot of great talent in the past.

The only thing I feel Idol has more of than other shows, is that many winners and runnerups of the past have made it quite big. I rarely hear winners of X Factor or The Voice becoming as big as some on Idol. I just feel we will see the show being canceled unless for some reason it gets better. I read a lot of comments on their Facebook and many aren't happy with the top contestants this year.

Do you think we will see American Idol come to an end soon?

It has outlasted the X Factor so I think it will carry on and on. I find x-factor more entertaining because the judges get more involved and there is more drama. However, despite Simon's best efforts it did not work in America so he is going back home to the UK where it is popular. Cheryl Cole is back too so I think this season in the UK will be a good one.

It will continue on, but it will never be the success it once was. The talent pool is thinner, the judge aren't as good, and frankly, the novelty has worn off.

American Idol was interesting to me for the first season or three, but it seems to have gotten worse over time. I don't like most of the people who have won in any capacity. The few that I did truly enjoy went on to become stars, but many of the other 'winners' are long forgotten or have turned out horribly. North Carolina makes a good showing frequently though, so that did keep me interested longer than it really should have.

I agree the judges aren't as good. It seems they don't give good feedback. I know many did not like Simon but he was honest with the contestants. I'm not expert on judging talent but there have been performances I thought were terrible or not too good and the judges loved it. Also agree that the novelty has worn off and people are looking to other shows to entertain them.
