IPs......I need help

i dont really understand them so if a mod/admin could help me out i'd appreciate

now does everyone have a unique ip or is it a location thing,i mean if i was online in scotland would my ip be the same as in england.......or is it different for each location.....you know.....if i was 5 niles away or on another pc it would be different.......an explanation would be appreciated

Every one has their own IP address.. It all depends though.. Lets say you are in a hospital/hotel.. The hospital/hotel will have the SAME IP.. So everytime that person logs on, its under the same IP (no matter how many user names they have.. it also tells us who is on the same IP address).. Depending on what plan you have (roaming IP or static IP), your IP should be the same or around about the same on your home computer. Noone else will have your same IP unless they use your computer.

Im sure someone can explain it alot better than me.. Basically, we can see where a person is posting from, etc... Not just based out of the STATE or COUNTRY, but from YOUR OWN Computer! got me?
