Does anyone know if there is a free backup software for an iPod, I know that you can buy 'em but I really don't feel like spending the bucks on it cause I'm cheap. I need one that would let me get videos, playlists, and music of course. Also, if anyone knows of one with a fully functional trial that would work too. Thanks.

My old computer is messed up and I don't know what it is so I don't want to take that crap and put it in my new computer. I'm looking for a backup software, thank you.

So you want to move the files to your new comp, but you dont want to because they could have a virus?

Something I'm not following here?

And as far as backup software for an ipod goes, what exactly do you want to use it for? Elaborate a bit and I'll be happy to help.

What I'm looking for is a software that allows you to use your iPod as a flash drive, take off what you want and add what you want. I know these exist but I don't know if there is a free one. And yeah, I'm worried about effi'n up my new computer if I put the shit from the old one in it, it's pretty bad.

No, forget the computer, it's done. I just have an iPod with all my music and videos, and a new computer with none of that music. Since I have 2500 songs and 15 videos I don't want to have to reload all of them. I need a software that can get the music, album art, playlists, and vidoes off the iPod and on to the computer.

Ipods aren't supposed to transfer music back to a computer after it has been synced. I had this same problem. On my Ipod, if I wanted to move files that weren't music/video, i just went through "my computer" and added them, then transfered to the other comp. But as for pre-synced stuff, I don't know what to tell you....

Try googling it or try looking on sourceforge.net.. that's all i got...

And that's why iPods suck. I can sync music to my MP3 player and then if I just plug it back into my computer I can see all of my files and copy them onto my computer =]
