Iphone 3GS and IOS4 download

Just wanna ask if anyone knows updates as to how well/or not the IOS4 download is with Iphone 3GS.

Upon the emergence of Iphone 4 this year and Apple made available the IOS4 for 3GS users, I've read reviews that some Apps don't work and some other problems encountered with this new operating system upgrade. Is it safe now to download? Thanks much

FYI: Despite that my mobile carrier was kind enough to make me eligible to get the IPhone 4 and despite discount from my workplace- I don't have any plans yet to get the IPhone 4 till maybe they come up with an IPhone 4GS

I think the problems have been ironed out in the main so downloading it should be fine.

I've read some reviews dated Sept /early parts of October 2010 with same problems . Some users have shifted back to their original operating system. I am not tech savvy and don' t wanna take the risk either
