an untimely loss.
one who has paid the ultimate price.

and for what?

left with a lingering pain,
one which no words can define,
one which nothing can fully heal,
a sorrow that penetrates the very soul
and riddles the heart with emotion.

and for what?

left with so many things left unsaid
and so many questions.
was it his time?
why him?
why now?
why?
lord, why did he have to go?

and for what?

but while deep in the sorrow
we fail to see past the dark.

we fail to see what light has been brought into this world.
to see the untold lives improved and brightened.
to see the immense difference the life of one man can make.

and now, we see,
yes, it was sudden,
and yes, it was too soon,
but God took him for a reason.

He took him to show us his light.
He took him to show us what he has done for us.

and now we can be sure
that Brett will receive
the greatest reward of all.

(last continuation. honest! =P)

to step out of the loving mortal embrace
and to step through Heaven's golden wrought gates...

and to step
into open arms.
