do you use it yourself? It's much easier to drop these into online convo's such as IMing. Do you know which most of them stand for? or do you have to look them up to find out? try not to use this kind of language on forums!

I use a little. imo, being one of them, I use it on forums. I know I shouldn't. xD

I use it all the time. Especially on Skype. I started instant messaging when I was little. Must be well over 10 years ago now. So I have came into contact with the abbreviations back when I was still thought I knew everything there was to know in this world ;) I like to think I never really have to look one up unless something new comes out.

I don't use internet slang. I am creole and french native speaker; so i learn english as third language; i need to start learning the standard form then i can use slang when i am chatting!

I make a good use of smiley to express my mood!

But, i don't think there a standard every web user will use to communicate online. I take more time but your brain can capture the meaning of the phrase; like i did it with your last message. There's no way to be sure that others people will understand!

Well, I have never been a fan of internet slang, therefore, I never learned and I don't use it. In fact I don't even understand them

I use internet slang like “LOL” for laughing, “BRB” for be right back, and “SMH” for shaking my head. It’s a fun, quick way to communicate, especially on social media.

I don’t use internet slang much, but I understand it’s great for quick, casual communication online. Terms like “LOL,” “BRB,” or “FOMO” help people express feelings or reactions faster, especially on social media or messaging apps.

I use those simple abbreviations when I am chatting informally online. I am careful that I don't use them excessively so that it does not interfere with my writing. There are new Gen Alpha language that are used on the internet though.
