Ok, I'm trying to fix a website that isn't displaying properly in IE 7 or 8 (what a surprise) and I've borrowed a laptop running Vista. It had a working IE8 installed, so I found an IE7 install package and installed it. Now IE8 won't work, and neither does the IE7.

I've tried a reinstall from the Microsoft website. Didn't work.

Any ideas?

I have FireFox, I need IE. Typical Microsoft have never managed to build a standards compliant browser, so most websites need a bunch of hacks to solve IE display problems. I need IE so I can see the problem and test a variety of hacks.

Did you install IE7 over IE 8?!?!?

no it was a separate IE7 install package so I could run that as well.

don't worry everyone, I fixed it. Used the command line to remove IE8 and put a new install on. Can't get IE7 working at all tho - anyone know anything about getting IE7 up and running on a Vista machine?
