Replace the word Christian with African American, or Gay / Bi / Trans, or Americans with Disabilities, and I"m sure you atheists would love this bill.
Double standard a bit much?
I agree wholeheartedly with thisTotally agree, that is just singling out Christians as somehow better than others simply because of their religion which is clearly prejudiced. Personally I'm of the opinion that religion should be kept out of politics, as far as possible, anyway.
uh, what does atheism have to do with anything?Replace the word Christian with African American, or Gay / Bi / Trans, or Americans with Disabilities, and I"m sure you atheists would love this bill.

and no, I would say the same thing for all of those.
Well, I would hope that anyone with common sense would see this as useless, no matter what their belief. The point about atheism is only an observation that the only reason we're going through this exercise is because somebody had a specific problem with religion. There are LOTS of these resolutions that move through the Congress, but the only one we see here has to do wtih religion.
That was my only point.
I'm pretty sure they already know this, considering most of the population of this country is Christian. its political lip service, nothing more. It's an affermation of support for a very large portion of the population. It isn't saying they're going to do anything special, it's basically a flowery way of saying, you guys exist, and we're not going to go out of our way to say you don't.
It isn't a law, like you said. It's just a nice thing to say.
Idk I have to look into it.I would be okay with that. Either way really for me.
Out of curiosity, did you find much complaint about the other two resolutions? They were October timeframe I believe.
