I've watched Seasons 1-5 of Stargate SG-1. :24:

It's so damn good.

You think Stargate is good, watch Stargate Atlantis when you're done with SG1. I love Stargate, watched all of it when it was first showing, and then a friend leant me Atlantis recently and OMG it's great I never feel that cool about spin-offs but this one is just so worth watching.

I was going through a viewing order, and they say once you get into Season 7 of SG-1 to start viewing SG-1 and Atlantis alternating. :lol: I'm not entirely certain if I'm gonna do it, but it's an interesting idea.

Daniel? He didn't die, he ascended to another plane of existence... which lasted all of one season before he was back again.

Died, ascended...either way he wasn't on the show anymore. Yeah, I heard he came back but I only received that bit of information a few years later and by then I was completely out of it. Then I heard that RDA left the show and that took care of any residual interest I may have had. I get annoyed when they mess around with the cast. It completely ruined the X-Files for me when David Duchovny left and I haven't watched CSI since William Petersen left either.

Yeah, Michael Shanks (Daniel) wanted to leave the show because he didn't think his character was developing enough. Then he was in like 5-6 episodes during that season anyway (between Daniel and doing the voice for Thor), and then came back at the end of the season. Richard Dean Anderson left the show for seasons 9 and 10 to spend time with his family.

I don't mind shows getting rid of characters, as long the quality stays as good. Like, NCIS... it got better after Sasha Alexander left the show because she didn't like Mark Harmon.

I was severely traumatized when Daniel ascended. Seriously! I watched that episode in horror and then wailed "I can't watch this show anymore!!!" :24: He was my favourite character. Perhaps I'll have to pick up the entire series on DVD and watch it sometime.

I was reading an article about him the other day... he evidently begged for most of the show to be allowed to have hair. They finally relented for the last two seasons of the show.

He seriously has some of the best one liners in the show. Like this one from one of the episodes I watched last night.

"I'd prefer not to consume bovine lactose at any temperature"

I watched what was quite possibly one of the saddest episodes of any TV show last night. Heroes Pt. 1 and 2. Not nearly on the same level as M*A*S*H - Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen. But still, really sad... great episode though despite it.
