on the way to pick up my daughter from school today a rock flew up from the car in front of me and it chipped my windshield DAMMIT IM SO PISSED!!!!!! you have no idea how mad I am right now :mad

omg the SAME shit happened to me 2 days ago! but it was a dumb ass dump truck. i got his plates and the "hows my driving" number but i dont know what the law is about that type of thing since its accidental. GRR!

I called my insurance company right after it happened as I was driving they said oh well we use to cover that free but we dont anymore and your deductible is $500 let us know if you need to make a claim, I was just like grrrrrrrr. Im thinking its gonna be cheaper to just have it done and pay for it myself then make a claim

call one of those glass places that does windshields at your car...whereever your car is. they are usually not too bad. got my moms blazer done for $150 installed.

My cousin owns an autoglass company. I used to work for him.

The insurance company usually covers repairs. Depending on where the crack is, that may be all that is needed. A simple repair. I would not advise you doing it yourself, cause too much pressure can send that crack across yer windshield. Should be able to pay a glass company 40-50 bucks to get that done. If the insurance wont cover it.

If the deductable is 500. Get a cash quote. Shop around. *nodz*

yeah thats what Im gonna do Boomer, Aaron knows a guy that owns a glass company that does the stuff after hours for cash it shouldnt be to bad he had his charger windshield done pretty cheap

That would piss me off too. I dunno how many times I've had to get on it and pass dump trucks to keep rocks from hittin my car.

As far as if the rock came out of a dump truck, I don't think there's anything you can do... I mean 99% of trucks don't have covers on the top and how's the driver supposed to know he kicked something up? Mudflaps aren't 100% effective.

I've had that happen loads of times. It's a pain in the arse as well as they will fail your MOT for it over here. It's not suprising that a lot of people here take out windscreen insurance!
