I wish you all the luck in the world.

Psst... I went on the patch once but quit 'em when I got up to 3 patches a day. :D

As one who has gone through it (many times and finally successfully some years ago) let me wish you the best of luck.

Mints were my best friend while I quit.

That and having everyone to tell me to piss off when I tried to bum a ciggie.

Good for you! Instead of reaching for food, grab a straw and bite it and chew it and use it when you want to put something in your mouth. Get some gum too. Stock up on easy to grab nutritious snacks. You can do it!

Good luck!

And I'd stock up on dum dums and keep a bunch in your purse all the time. Or gum. I don't know. I'd think lolli's would do better because it's not weird to pull it out of your mouth

Good luck, Sweetie. In July it will be 11 years since I quit. . .if you need encouragement or an ear to vent on (believe me, you'll probably want to kill everyone for a few days) let me know. :)

Good luck I am trying to quit at the moment too - anyone got any tips for beating the cravings while drinking? I'm trying to cut drinking down as well and generally be healthier but I always get really strong urges to smoke when drinking booze and that's by far the hardest part

Good luck with this. I rarely smoked but understand the difficulty.

If I remember right the weight gain is a result of the metabolism re adjusting for the first 3-6 weeks. After that it gets back to where it started. So what you have to do is either eat 15% less or burn 15% more calories by walking or whatever exercise for a while if you want to not gain weight.

But you probably already knew that :D
