Today when I dropped my son off at kindergarten, his teacher asked me if I would help their class at the schools fall fair. She wants me to help sell candy and other stuff in their class booth. I haven't given her a answer yet. But I am 90% sure I will do it. She asked because I am one of the 3 parents who drop off and pick up their kid everyday. I work nights, and his mom works days. So there is no other choice. So she sees me everyday.

It made me feel good that she asked.
But I draw the line at being a PTA parent. Lol

My wife works at an Elementary school as the bookkeeper. I end up volunteering for all kinds of things and I do not have kids at the school. Good on you for volunteering. I was the DAD coach for most of my kid's sports. My wife and I were the class parents on most field trips. One or the other of us were constantly helping out.

Parents actually being involved in their kid's education is out of the norm these days. I got hooked into being assistant scoutmaster the same way when my boys were in scouts. That was 8 years that were fun and I learned a lot. Good for you to be involved.

Nothing wrong with being a PTA parent and supporting/helping at the school and with your child's education.

You are right there is nothing wrong with being a PTA parent. It just isn't for me. However I do take a lot more interest in my Childs education than most parents do these days. I have been volunteering for things since he started daycare and preschool at 1 year old. I tried volunteering in his classroom on one of my days off. But 20 something crazy little kindergarteners, just isn't my calling. If you know what I mean. Lol

Awww, I think that's super great! It's always fantastic when the parents want to get involved and to help out. <3

I definitely do. I just would not want to do the PTA thing. I want to do as much as possible while my son thinks it is still cool to have his dad around.
