Haven't been around for a while, we had some difficulty in our pregnancy and we ended up delivering 2 months early. Braiden Joseph was born on Sunday October 18th weighing in at 4 pounds and 3 ounces, he 17.5 inches long.
I went into labor last Thursday and I went all Thursday night into Friday night before I could admit that I was in labor. I had the worst back pain and tons of pressure. We went to the hospital around 9pm Friday and I was dilated to 5. They tried for 3 days to keep him in but on Sunday I had made it to 10 and they took me to the OR to break my water and he was born 40 minuets later at 11:40 am.
Right now he is in the NICU at the best hospital in my state.. GO BLUE!!
At first he had to be put on a ventilator because his lungs had not matured enough but now he is breathing room air and is doing very well. The Doctors keep telling us that he is doing far better than anyone expected him to do. We are feeling so blessed to have him in our lives and that he is a healthy baby. He will have to stay in the NICU until his weight reaches 5 pounds. Right now he is at 3 pounds and 15 ounces so he is well on his way! They say it could take up to 5 weeks before he comes home so we are praying that he will grow fast and come home soon. They are feeding him through a feeding tube and we hope that he will be off of that soon and taking to a bottle.
