I can agree that an apology for slavery is a good measure to reaffirm equal rights, but I mean comon, florida shelled out 2.1 million to DECENDANTS of people who were traumatized 85 years ago?
How does this make sense? Couldn't the state have better spent the money on hurricane preparedness, firefighter/paramedic/police equipment? Fixing up rundown neighborhoods? Something more productive than giving people who experienced nothing some lining in their pockets.
We have all seen or heard of racism in our lives, but to give people free money is just taking it a little bit too far, IMO.
