They say that all Americans should vote.

However, I disagree. I don't want people who don't know much about what's going on in politics and the world voting. I want those voting to be informed citizens only.

So does that mean that everyone should follow the news more? No. Some people don't want to read about bad news stories, and who can blame them? Good news doesn't sell as much. So by avoiding the news, you'll be less likely to start to believe that most of the world is negative.

Those before us that helped create the U.S. wanted us to realize how great it is to be able to vote. But they didn't want people to vote who didn't know what they were voting about.

Sure. Limiting who can vote is a great idea.

I hear women are pretty emotional, they probably shouldn't be allowed to vote either. All that emotional instability affecting them. God knows who those crazy bitches might elect!

I think we should go back to the voting system in the 1700s.

No women. No poor people. No secret ballots.

Interesting. I do believe those who do not contribute to society should not count as much as those who do contribute to the economy.

We have been here before....I do contribute to society and also economy...still NO VOTE for me !!!!
New Zealand my second country was the first country in the world whom gave woman the RIGHT to vote,it also lets residents vote.
I believe that if your allowed to vote and don't than its voting for the enemy instead...so you better do it as it also take away to be able to complain.:)

I might be wrong but I think in the US there was a time period where only a landowner could vote.

I am not really sure why a felon who did his time can not vote though. Unless I am wrong on that one.

We do have a pretty dumb society when it comes to voters. Perhaps letting felons vote would be a step up :D

Sure you can vote. You have to take the effort to become a citizen

If I move to your native country how soon can I vote? Do I need to be a citizen?

I know in Georgia, felons who have completed their sentences can petetion the state for reinstatement of their civil rights. It's not automatic.

Can't be any worse than letting those TEA Party conservobot types vote. :p

Hey Allen, guess what? I am a LIBERAL!!!

Conservative is the dirty word.;) They want to conserve the misery. They want to conserve the status quo.

I want to progress my LIBERAL ideals of true freedom and liberty and justice for all - not the conservobot freedom for a few.

And that's why they instated a test to verify a person knew what they were voting about before being allowed to cast their ballot, right?
