can you imagine the split feeling of pride and horror/fear/anguish if you were that girl's parents as she did that?

I wonder who it was who carried her off? Probably a coach, but I can go into a full fledged tearfest if I put myself beside her and imagine that's one of my daughters. Oh baby, I'm welling up just thinking about it!

I think it said a race official. Omg. That was painful to watch.

I can't say enough about perserverance in life. This young lady will no doubt go far.

It was upsetting however to me to not see many people paying much attention to the fact that she was hurt and no one seemed to be rushing to her aid. If someone is crawling on the ground and not getting back up - it is pretty obvious that there is something wrong. The other runners saw her crawling and after they finished crossing the finish line they didn't turn back around to go to her aid or anything. The lack of concern was shocking to me.

I'm sure she will heal up just fine and go on to live a very full, productive life.

Again, I can't say enough about perserverance. Well done Claire! :clap Bravo!

more than likely, there is probably some rule about touching people or helping them over the line. Probably would have disqualified her.

And in the defense of her competitors, they're probably struggling just to breathe. I saw a couple turn around, and as soon as a race official could get to her, someone did.

Just an awesome display of human courage. Her parents must be SO proud of her.

one thing is perseverance and another one is risking your health over pride. If I was her parents I'd want to kill her.
