Another point on Rooney, and this is interesting, we have actually lost 6 games WITH Rooney in the team.
Burnley, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Fulham.
Actually here's something I do when I'm bored. I'm going to do our season results , put the actual results first and then put in brackets what the score would have been had Rooney's goals been taken out.
Birmingham : 1-0 (0-0)
Burnley : 0-1 (0-1)
Wigan : 5-0 (3-0)
Tottenham : 3-1 (2-1)
Man City : 4-3 (3-3)
Stoke : 2-0 (2-0)
Sunderland 2-2 (2-2)
Bolton : 2-1 (2-1)
Liverpool : 0-2 (0-2)
Blackburn : 2-0 (1-0)
Chelsea : 0-1 (0-1)
Everton : 3-0 (3-0)
Portsmouth : 4-1 (1-1)
West Ham : 4-0 (3-0)
Aston Villa : 0-1 (0-1)
Wolves : 3-0 (2-0)
Fulham : 0-3 (0-3)
Hull 3-1 (1-1)
Wigan : 5-0 (4-0)
Birmingham : 1-1 (1-1)
Burnley : 3-0 (2-0)
Hull : 4-0 (0-0)
Arsenal : 3-1 (2-1)
Portsmouth : 5-0 (4-0)
Everton : 1-3 (1-3)
West Ham : 3-0 (2-0)
Wolves : 1-0 (1-0)
Fulham : 3-0 (1-0)
Liverpool : 2-1 (1-1)
Bolton : 4-0 (4-0)
Chelsea : 1-2 (1-2)
That's 57 points, which on current form would put us 6th in the Premiership. But while that proves we're worse off without Rooney, the games I put above that we lost with Rooney in the team, proves we're not that one man team poeople would have you believe.
