go out and take a picture of an insect,but give it a good go......by insect i mean anything that could be classed as a bug,dragonfly,butterfly etc etc

post your results here and i'll see if i can help you get it better next time you do it

as far as the ladybird goes theres nothing wrong with it,i struggle with these by the way.....now you know i like to get alot closer,but theres nothing wrong with your distance.the only problem i have is if you take the insect out theres no real interest,if he was on a flower or something similar this would be improved 100%

beyond your control i know,but you know what i'm going to say about the background dont you....but forgetting the background,next time see if you can move around him to the left so you get his head too
