ok...my problem is, about every 5 minutes my internet stops working for about 20 seconds.....and its so fuckin annoying

it worked fine for a long time, never had this problem until about 3 days ago and it wont go away.....

ok, first off my network says i have a full connection at all times, im only about 10 feet away from my router all the time.....

i called my ISP and they said they cant find any problems with my account, lines or anything so i guess it has to be my computer

so about every 5 minutes i try to reload the page or go to a new page and it just keeps loading for about 20 seconds then says page not found or whatever....no matter what website it is..this is gettin so annoying! can anybody help me?????

no i didnt think to....i know NOTHING about computers...ill do it now

i didnt know a virus can interrupt your internet connection like this:thumbdown

Viruses can do much worse than that. It may not be the problem, but start with the easy stuff first.

What kind of spyware software do you have?

none i guess all i got is trend micro antivirus

im runnin a scan right now by the way

Try this link for spyware software and read through the info if you have time

Best Free Adware/Spyware/Scumware Remover | Freeware

BTW - this may take some time to get straightened out. It may not be a virus or spyware causing the prob. And, there are much smarter members here than I - so hopefully one of them will show up with some help for you as well.

Don't know Trend, so this is a guess. Open up the user interface for your antivirus and see if there is a log that shows the scanned files, or any alerts that have occurred since you ran the scan.

Usually as soon as a scanner finds something it drops it in the vault. You might wanna try just plugging your computer into the router if you're close to it. It might be a problem with the wireless card.

Bypass the router and connect directly to the AC point. See if the problem crops up again. The router maybe screwed up.

I agree with the bit about hard wiring to the router. If you are going wireless it could be your card.

do you have more than one anti virus by chance that is running? If so then choose one and remove the other. Multiple anti viruses can cause confusion.

If Trend found something then you should go to a site and post a "Hijack This" log. Just because a virus removes something does not mean things are all cleaned up. It is not always that simple

Do you have a firewall?

What Operating System are you running.?

Like I said, I do this on a few other sites. :)

CLICK HERE to download the HijackThis Installer:

 1. Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
 2. Double-click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
 3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
 4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
 5. Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
 6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad.
 7. Click on "Edit -> Select All" then click on "Edit -> Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
 8. Come back here to this thread and paste the log in your next reply.
 9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
