A couple of weeks ago I noticed a huge Pine tree in my yard was dead. It is so expensive to hire someone to remove trees. This one was about 65 feet tall and very dead. Saturday was a week ago I attached a tree climber to it and trimmed limbs to about 30 feet but grew tired and quit. This past Saturday I again attached my tree climber and trimmed a few more limbs before noticing my climber was sliding on the loose bark and the whole tree was swaying as I used a hand saw on the limbs.

I knew where I wanted the tree to fall and tied ropes to it. There is a space between another tree and my privacy fence where my wife has Crepe Myrtle right in between that she did not want to lose. I tied one rope to the other tree and a second to my pick-up. I told my wife where the end of the tree would hit and where I intended to drop the tree in reference to her Crepe Myrtle. I had my wife pull the rope tight with the truck once I got the tree notched. I instructed her to keep the rope tight. I cut the tree and it fell exactly where I told her it would and the end of it was right where I told her it would be.

I was truly proud of myself as this is the biggest tree I have ever brought down. In the past, I was working on smaller trees or ones that had already fallen.

My ex girlfriends dad has a tree service in the White mountains here in Arizona. He does really well for himself.

Same here! There’s something so satisfying about seeing all the pieces fall into place, especially after hard work and patience. It’s that sweet moment of “yes, this was worth it,” and it really boosts confidence for the next goal.
