I just turned 7, no more booster seat!

Well lets think about that.

Cop is having a bad day. decides to be a dick and pulls you over. Notices your kid doesn't look that tall and writes you out a ticket for not only speeding, but the 112 dollar fine ticket for no booster seat.

It's a bullshit law, IMO... but it'll happen.

What I don't like is that the state is going around the US laws and not just appealing to the US courts and lawmakers to get the automakers to redesign seat belts to fit both adults and children in the first place. This would eliminate the need for consumers to spend 25k on a minivan and then 20-120 on the lower end booster seats.

I mean since seatbelts are MANDATORY here now, why not get the auto manufacturers to redesign them to be adjustable?

It just depends on the car. My truck has adjustable shoulder belts, but my escort had automatic seat belts so they weren't adjustable at all.

It's been mandatory for a while now... at least since I started driving 8 years ago. They do a major countrywide "click it or ticket" campaign once a year. Brings in millions of dollars in ticket revenue to police agencies.

My daughter was in a booster until she was 6 or 7 because she was too short for the seatbelt. By weight, she'd have been in one a couple years longer. Her twin brother, on the other hand, was out of it by 4. 4'9" is ridiculous-that's a 4th or 5th grader!

That's funny as! Small kids are going to get ripped into at school, but it is good that they have to stay in the back, hard luck to parents with a 2 seater though.
