I need to come up with an impressive meal to feed twelve people. It's got to be something that sounds complicated, but really takes little to no cooking skills whatsoever. Oh, and cheap.

I was thinking a casserole of some kind, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Easy. If you can chop veggies, you can make this.

You need a pretty big pot with a lid to make a batch this size - I would say for 12 you need to double this recipe:

4 cups chopped onion
2 cups chopped celery
2 cups chopped green pepper
1 cup vegetable oil
2 lbs smoked sausage - cut into small slices
2 1/2 cups of rice (Uncle Bens is the best)
2 cans Campbells Beef Broth
2 tbsp worchestershire sauce
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 bunch green onions - sliced across into small bits

Heat the oil in the pot first. Add the vegetables and cook them about five minutes until they start to get soft. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook another 5 minutes or so. Add in the rice, stir it well to make sure it's all coated with the oil. The add everything else except the green onions. Bring it to a boil, then put the lid on, turn the heat to as low as possible, and don't touch it for 45 minutes. Then stir in the green onions, cover it again for 15 more minutes.

That's it. Best to serve it with garlic bread and a bottle of some kind of hot sauce so people can spice it up as much as they like.

:D

White Spaghetti.
Cook spaghetti noodles are usual.
Put in a casserole pan with cream of mushroom sauce and chicken over it.
Sprinkle some mozz cheese on it with some parsley.
Bake at 375 til chicken is done.

You could do some sort of crockpot stew. Put meat, potatoes and other vegetables, and chicken broth in the crock pot and let it go.

Then again, I am a horrible cook so maybe you shouldn't take my advice. Good luck! Make sure to let us know what you ended up making and how it turned out. :)

Do a buffet dinner - wings ($7 big bag and then crock'em up), a pasta ($7 for pasta and sause if you don't make your own), ham rollups($7 ham slices, creme cheese and kosher dills rolled and sliced makes 60 bites), salad ($7croutons, bacon bits on the side), bbqmeatballs ($7 season meat and cook in cheap bbq sauce if you don't make your own), breads - garlic and plain buttered ($3 day old from jimmyjohns loaves for 49cents each here)
