I hate my dads way of thinking.... (virus related)

supposedly he's got a "virus" and he can't access anything and he thinks if he actually goes out and pays an arm and a leg for a virus program that it'll get rid of the problem. They have AVG already... He gets on these websites that are shady as fuck and wonders why hes got issues.

kinda sounds like my grandmaw. she always gets the 2nd hand computers from off the wall people and wonders why it doesnt work the way it should or why it 'breaks down' after a few months

My mom called me and asked me to go and help him I said NO, he always freaks out and has a fit when I tell him to do something or I do something that he doesn't understand and I'm not putting up with it. He had to change some fans a year ago and we had a shouting match.

Yeah this, I know someone who had the same thing and wondered why.

It's easy enough to find a good virus protection for free. I use avira personally.

The difference between Free and Paid virus protection is huge, speaking as someone who has received a Kaspersky rolling-year long license.

But there are some AV programs out there, subscription or free, that are worthless.
