Gotta fuckin love Drs. I couldn't make an appoint for february back in December for a follow up and now the friggen dr. is booked and i have to see someone else on his team? bullshit. She asked me if i wanted to schedule for March... No I was supposed to see him this month! and he hasnt moved my work at the hospital that my pulmonary dr scheduled way too far. I don't want to be on this coumadin longer than I'm supposed to be. I had to call back because duh i had a brain fart. She sheduled me with this different doctor but a nurse or whatever saw me for i dunno how many visits and knows just as much about my blood clot as the dr. does so im trying to see her instead of someone that ive never seen before.Glad I fucking thought to call today or i'd of really been fucked.

I understand that this is just a rant but yanno its really not there fault that YOU forgot to make that appt. Them scheduling you to see someone else is actually a favor to you, what did you expect them to do? cancel someone else and move you to their appt because you fucked up and want to see your regular doc? I dont even understand how you can bitch about them when it was all your fault and nothing of their doing.

what? Did you NOT read? i couldn't make the appt. too far in advance. Making the appt. the 9th I figured would be enough time. I do not go to a regular doctors office. How is this a favor? I WANT OFF THE COU-MA-DIN....

okay let me clear this up because obviously I don't make myself clear enough for some folks and they'll take any chance they get to rag. Back in late December, i had a follow up because I landed in the hospital in august due to a blood clot. well, we agreed my pulmonary doctor scheduled some tests too far ahead so they were supposed to be moved and i was supposed to schedule another appointment in 2 months. They don't schedule 2 months in advance. I figured I'd wait until this month to schedule since this is the last month I'm supposed to be on this Coumadin . well, I called yesterday. and the secretary said he was booked until March. That's bullshit and unacceptable. She asked me if i wanted an appointment March 4th I said nop I want it this month so she scheduled m,e with another doctor on his team, who I've never dealt with and has no clue wtf is going on. on top of that he didn't get my work moved up andf i'll have to call them and hound them to get it done. Clear enough for you? This is in no way my fault and I resent the notion.

I don't understand why you're so upset, though...doctors are very busy and it's very common for them to be booked so far in advance. Shit, last year I canceled my yearly gyno appointment and couldn't reschedule for 3 months!!! It sucks, but it's nothing to get all that upset about, hon. Why can't you schedule the appointment for March to see your doctor and ask one of the staff to check w/ him and see if it's okay for you to go off the coumadin before then???

yep that definitly makes more sense now thank you!
heres what I suggest you do about your labs usually they will make a standing order with that lab saying during the month of.... you need to have such and such done so you should be able to call and just make an appt to have it done and it should be on file. Otherwise call and ask to talk to the nurse and have her set up an appt to get it done. Easy peasy.....
Also with the way computer systems are set up these days if this other doc is one of his partners all he will have to do is call up your info in the computer and its all there right in front of him notes, all your visits etc, no biggie. :)
Dana there is a little over 2 weeks left in this month did you really think you were going to get in that quick? You can also ask to be put on there cancellation list where if someone cancels they call you and you take their appt. Its not like you have a job you can pretty much go in whenever they call you thats another option.

That's the way specialists work Dana... I agree with Audraa, ask to be put on the cancellation list, and chances are that you'll get in much sooner. If you want to be seen immediately, take the appt with the other doc. If they're in the same office, they'll be able to read your chart and find out what's going on with you prior to your visit. It might take a bit longer if there are other concerns, but at the very least they'll be able to get you off of the coumadin if that's what is needed.

As far as being able to get an appointment this month, honestly... you should have called the last week of January or the 1st-4th of February. Especially knowing that they don't schedule two months in advance. I'm not putting the blame on you, but it isn't the physician's fault that they got booked up. Cardiologists (I'm assuming that's what your physician is) are incredibly busy, it's just the way that it goes. In the future, if you have to see this doctor again, find out how early they do schedule in advance, and then book your appointment at the earliest opportunity for the time-frame you want to be seen.

just so we're clear the first isnt a specialist i just go to a place for low income people and the practicing doctors switch out so i may not even have this doctor in a month or so... I just like to have someone who knows wtf's been goin on. Not that this doctor really paid attention.

Even a family doctor you have seen for years is not going to remember details I would suspect. They will always look at the charts. So seeing a different doctor is not going to have any effect. I might think different if it was a specialist but then it would depend on the situation.

And the following does not make any logical sense as related to your complaint. Think about it. You are complaining about not getting in to see a particular doctor and then now state that you might well be switched out in a month and that "not that this doctor really paid attention" :willy_nilly:

Any doctor will know what's going on, that's what paper or electronic charts are for. They can review your medical history, meds, and everything else that you've been seen for. If it's a low-income place, then you're going to run into the same issue as if you were seeing a specialist... a lot of demand and not a equal amount of time available.

If this doctor didn't pay attention, then I don't see what the big deal would be with seeing a different one. Especially since you probably won't see this doctor when you have to go back there. You seriously make my head hurt sometimes. :willy_nilly:

Uhm, no. First off, if you live in the United States, you have a right to choose whatever doctor you want to see (as long as you have the appropriate insurance). If you felt that it was imperative that you have your physical sooner, then you could go see a physician that could get you in far earlier.

If you live somewhere with socialized medicine, well... then I guess you're just SOL.
