A thread was closed a bit ago... it was said that there were several reported posts pertaining to the thread, therefore, it was closed.

I thought the new rules from last year, stated that there would be no closing of threads or mod/admin interference unless someone was called a name, and the person who was called a name, reported it. Then the consequence, would be an infraction. For name calling.

Clarity? Please?

I'm feeling like there's quite a bit of babysitting taking place these days... I don't like it and I know for certain that several others don't either. I'm sure I won't win a popularity contest with a few members for this thread, and I don't care. What I do care about is that we are treated like adults and that we are permitted to handle our own situations.

I saw that. I was surprised to see it mentioned that people "reported" others. I'm not commenting on whether or not it was deserved, I was just surprised.

For the record, if I piss any one off, which I will, if I haven't already. Feel free to tell me to fuck off.

Yeah, I was surprised too, especially since the members know to keep their noses out a spat between two people. ALL reports are to be ignored, UNLESS a person was called a name and that person reported it.


FYI, zen... you can tell people to fuck off... it's within the rules. :24:

Yup I remember it being stated reported post by non combatants would be totally ignored

I must be missing the babysitting going around though as have not noticed it.

I can understand that post being closed though.

On what grounds do you understand the thread being closed? For the love of Mike, there have been shit storm threads take place here that go untouched. As it should be. PER THE NEW RULES.

There is absolutely nothing in the rules about us not closing threads. The thread was only causing more problems so it ass closed. If everyone acted like adults, then threads wouldn't be closed but some people don't want to be cibil

That thread was closed because it turned into a pissing contest and an insult fest between two members. The entire thread had lost it's momentum and turned into a shit storm.

So I locked it.

Please reference this portion of the rules, for clarification:

If the mods notice drama going on, they will PM you about it. I do not want threads to be about constant fighting. I want this site to be fun- not full of drama. Please remember, mods are not here to make it miserable.. they are here to ensure yall have a good place to have fun at.

I spoke via PM with one of the parties involved, and made the decision that the thread was best locked, and not left often so that more fighting would ensue.

It's entirely the prerogative of the higher ups to do whatever they wish to (mostly according to the rules) but I see GDW's main point - varying standards.
