Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy (or the state of being a hypocrite) is the act of preaching a certain belief, religion or way of life, but not, in fact, holding these same virtues oneself.

What are your views on what is hypocritical and what is being sensible/cautious ie:..smoking , and telling others not too....

You will find hypocrisy in everyday life, from shopping to watching the evening news...I want to know what boundaries does hypocrisy border on.....and your views of people who are hypocritical.

I think EVERYONE is a hypocrite in one way or another. It's very hard to ALWAYS live by everything you say. I think as long as you are held accountable for the things you say you believe in, then it's ok to mess up here and there, it's how we learn. If it's something you truly believe then you will at least try to stick to it...but no one is perfect! Especially when it comes to religion I think. There is a quote...the single biggest cause of atheism today are Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips than deny him by their lifestyle. It's sad but true!

It would seem impossible that anyone can go through life without being a hipocrate at some point. If you are denying that it would be a lie! Would it not? I just do my best...

My name is RedRyder... here anyway... and I am a hypocrite.

I try every day to live by my rules. I try every day to live with others who break or bend my rules.

The rules are the ones I set for myself and others and not necessarily do I let them in on it until I can toss it in their face when bent or broken. That is when they invariably toss it right back at me with an explanation that irritates the hell out of me until I actually see their point.

Unfortunately, I sometimes have double standards and am aware of it too. Doesn't help some of life's situations but it is what it is.

Hypocrisy, at some point or another, is in everybody. Human nature says that it's going to be present in every single one that lives. If not...well, there will surely be some problems with that person, I'll tell you that. It doesn't sound right, but if you think about it, a world without hypocrisy just wouldn't be totally in line, never mind boring.

No one "ever", "always", or "nevers" .. yet everyone uses those words when referring to themselves in context. So in retrosept .. we are all hypocrits, most of the time without even realizing it. People who realize it and continue to do so .. are the "real" offenders imo.
