Would you have drugs tested on you for money? I volunteered for this when I was trying to save up for my wedding but got turned down because of drugs I was on. Do you agree with this? I personally have no problem, you're made aware of the dangers first and to be honest I put known harmful substances into my body anyway!

My answer here is the same as the other thread. No one has the right to tell you that you can't. Though I would add, I hope they educate them on any possible side effects.

I have thought about doing it before. With the drugs they try on you to get you to quit smoking. I think as long as you know what you could be facing and its something you want to do no matter what the reasons. No problem with it at all.

Shoot I still consider it every time i read the paper. $500 or more to do test drugs on the effects it has with you smoking

well that would be $500- $700 actually...and for just a 2 or 3 day study :) dunno how long yours went on for though. and here it depends on what study how long

The one I went for involved staying in a private hospital for 2 weeks. A friend of mine did it, he looked like a junkie when he came out though with all the needle marks in his arm!;)

I don't know if I would do it, I suppose it depends on what the drug was. But I just don't think anyone has the right to tell you what to do with your body. If I feel that I don't care what the consequences are (and I know them clearly) I should be able to undergo the testing. As a general consumer, I would feel safer knowing my drugs had been tested on people and not just on rats, because people can clearly react to things differently than animals. If someone is willing to take on the responsibility of trying these new drugs, that is their choice.

right...you don't know all the effects, but i guess is what i meant is that ultimately they inform you that you could DIE....or become EXTREMELY ILL from these tests...lol...seriously though, if they tell you that, and you're ok with it...thats all on you ;)

Drug testing always has and always will involve human volunteers. The drug companies invest millions into this. If you're subjecting yourself to new drug testing, then it's already gone through a multitude of steps before human testing is permitted. But do not be naive - there is no way they can inform you of all of the adverse reactions or side effects! They don't know yet. Hence the reason for the tests

Innit! We've recently had a load of people get bad reactions and moan to the press about it. Well what the fuck do you think you were getting paid a few grand for easy looking shit for???:horse

Yes I think I would. I have fibromyalgia and if a new drug was being tested ;I think I would volunteer for the drug testing. As Breath stated there is no way the drug companes no all the side effects. But thats why they are paying you. The drugs I'm on now are not covered by our drug plan. [Mrs Bob]

I would only do any testing if I knew the side effects, if I knew what was in the drug and if it involved no needles..

I have a pretty big phobia of watching needles be put in and receiving them.. I am also WAY to young to do any of it, so I guess it doesn't matter to much, but if I was ever going to, these are the things I would keep in mind.
