Unfortunately, we encountered some problems migrating to vBbulletin. Fortunately, we recovered everything except for a few minor things - avatars being one of them.
If you've lost your copy of your avatar, and want it back - here is how (we backed them up). Since the avatars had random letters attached when they got uploaded, you'll have to do this the hard way.

You could also do a site
fftopicz.net username search on google (replacing with your actual username) to find a cached page you posted on and find the broken image where your avatar was. Right click on this and go to properties where you can find the actual filename of your avatar. May make finding it easier. If you need help, just ask and I'll find it for you (please try yourself first).
