Came home from turkey dinner at my Bil's and all the smoke alarms were going off. Seems the Co detector is bad and since they are all tied together all 7 were going at once. After climbing the ladder in the basement for those 2 and then the 2 stepper for the ones up here I finally found the one that was setting them off. Now my foot is killing me from all that plus 2 times up and down the stairs in a hurry.
Time to replace all of them as they are 6 years old and the ones the builders put in are prone to failure from dust. With our birds and all the other pets they get loaded up. We vac them but it gets into the internal components and messes them up.

I would think in a positive light ( glass half full ) and be happy the house was fine..

If all that wrong was the annoying detectors going off, which I can understand can be stressful, I would be really happy..

Last time I heard of someone thinking a CO (Carbon Monoxide) detector was "bad" and they disabled them, they did not wake up the next morning.

There is another one still working as well as 5 other smoke detectors. If it was not black Friday I would be getting one this morning. I have a wood boiler 100ft. from the house as my primary heat source.

I've got to ask, what does a wood boil 100' from the house have to do with your CO detectors?

My aux heat for the first floor is a vent free fireplace. Had em all (smoke alarms, all tied together) going off on the first "burn off" (during the day) of the approaching cooler months a couple of weeks ago.

Joe, he means that he has no appliances inside the house that could be producing carbon monoxide. The wood boiler provides warm water heat for his home and green houses, as well as his shop.
