When you eat at a restaurant, how much do you normally tip the waitress?

I normally tip 10-15% on the bill. But if it's a bad server, they get nothing.

It really depends on how much I tip and I go by the service I received before I make the tip. Usually, I tip around 10% if I am happy with the service but much like with any other person, if I am not happy with the service, no tip will be given.

Usually, I am happy though and I will give a tip as I feel that is only right.

Nevertheless, considering the level of service received, the quality of the food, and other factors, some people may tip more or less. It is vital to understand that servers are significantly reliant on tips.

My range for a tip depends on the mood I am in and how much I am impressed with the services I receive. Everyone always wants value and excellent service. If they did not ruin your day in any way then they surely deserve a good tip.It ranges from a few tips to about a dollar in my local currency.

I generally tip 15-20%, unless I'm given a reason not to. Most of that is empathy based. I was a server for a short time in my younger days and I understand the struggle.

What do people think about tipping for take out? The kind you pick up, not delivery.

You are allowed to do this anyhow you want . Yes I agree with you don't tip a bad server to discourage the person from such attitude

For me I normally I don't do tipping. This is because the tip is inclusive in the selling price of the services rendered or the goods bought

We went out last night with friends and our bill was 94 so we tipped 15. It would be nicer if all professions had a 'living wage' fitting to their cities expenses so that tipping was something of the past.

It's certainly getting close to that here in my city. Living wage would be around 18 an hour, currently minimum wage is 16 but will go up in October to 16.55. However, this wage in anither city would not allow someone to live when just rent alone is over 2500 a month.

For me, I give service providers between 10 to 15 percent based on how well they perform. Well, the amount of tip should be determined by the level of service customers receive.
