Modern technology sure has improved over the last 5 years. It has changed some of our lives, which is good considering most people cannot live without technology now. It has helped people to communicate better, which is a big plus because that's what the whole social medial is about. I think the problem is that a lot of people reply heavily on technology, which I consider modern technology hasn't changed the way people learn things. For instance, some people lack of cognitive thinking and decision-making because they are so attached to technology. I think modern technology has also impacted the society in a way that some people just spend too much time on it.

I think in a few ways growing up with computers and the internet has been beneficial. I've learnt a lot of stuff that I wouldn't have known without technology and I've met some cool people that I've talked with from all around the world. I think that the ability to have access to vast information about any topic and how it has become such a strong part of modern communication is a good thing, however there are certainly downsides too. I think one big downside is that it has replaced natural communication to some degree, and if digital communication is someones only source then that's not a good thing.

The advances in technology has led me to this forum so i can read other peopled opinions about random topics. It has advanced so much that i can now view this forum on the go while i am outside on my smartphone. If it advances even more i won't even need a computer and have the website wired into my brain!

Nowadays wherein we are in the world of modern technology there is really a change and the time is so fast especially in the communication aspect like the internet where everybody can access and search about many things that they can use in their daily life. I am glad today we are in the advance stage not unlike before wherein you have to it from scratch just to find something you want to do and know. This new technology really change our way of life.

"Oh, I've got 4 seconds free time? I'm not going to speak with someone, I'll play on my phone."

Is what most of the kids I see are doing these days.

I believe that the advancement of our technology both played a positive and a negative role in our society. On the positive aspect, our lives have become more convenient. We have raised productivity to a certain bar that some people expect that only robots could beat such efficiency. This is the nice thing about our technology. On the negative aspect, we have become too reliant on the technology that we have, thus slowly losing our identity and our manual skills.

It has definitely changed the way we drive. We now have a GPS instead of a big map that we sometimes had to stop at the side of the road in order to consult, which is a big pain with the rain. We don't have to look at signs anymore, at least not so often. It also indicates the radars so it prevents you from having unwanted tickets.

We now pass alot of our time in-front of the computer doing various things we used to do all together in a living room before, like chatting, watching a movie, listening to music and everything else.

I think my kids have missed so many of the wonderful simple things I enjoyed in my youth. Has it made life easier...yes, it has. But easier doesn't always mean better.

I used to bring my Walkman to school back in college. Now, I can bring movies and music through my iPhone. Most of my classmates back in high school and college are miles apart physically, but their thoughts, feelings, and hearts aren't. Now with Facebook, they felt even closer than before. As for me though, I'm better off looking forward to the future than revisiting the past.

I think that while everything has been made a lot easier, it may not be all that great. Everyone uses internet these days and if you don't own a smartphone, you're stupid and you don't belong in this world. That's kind of the idea now and that's what I don't like about it. But then again I think I could barely live without my lovely phone and my computer, because while it does have a lot of disadvantages (less social contact, adiction, etc.) the advantages are huge as well.

Aries hit it on the head. We don't see kids playing in their yards anymore. They're all inside on their XBoxes, or whatever the rage is. When you do see kids, they've got their phones out. For me, it has enhanced my life. When a small boy on the farm, we had a rotary dial phone. It got used for purpose-filled calls. Dad calling the John Deere dealer to see if they had a part he needed to repair one of the farm implements would be an example.
When I graduated high school, most of my classmates went off to college and never returned, and I lost track of them. Come Facebook, I found most of my graduating class. I have found long lost cousins as well. Going online, I can search out information when making repairs to my vehicles, or search out products. I have found items online at sites such as Amazon and McMaster Carr (industrial and automotive) that aren't available locally.
