Real poetry to me is poetry that explores things that other writing can't. It's poetry that creates emotion and an understanding, something that everyday language cannot truly define.
For me personally, real poetry is anything written with emotion. It can tell a story, or be pure emotion, it can be about the love of something specific. It it's full of emotion, it blossoms into a poem.
I can find beauty in both modern day poetry as well as the classics such a Poe and Shakespeare. I own books by both of them but also have some by modern day writers as well.
Real poetry for me is one that moves and touches the emotions of the readers as if it's really about them. One that can lt people paint on their minds what is the actual scene in the piece.
