How can we be sure of existence?

All we know is made up only of the thing which we percieve. The only way we can take in information is through our five sense. The info from our sensory organs travels to the brain via nerve impulses made of electricity. So how do we know we're not just floating brains being fed these impulses? (I'm told I sound like im talking about the Matrix, but i wouldn't know, i never seen that move -__-; )

But seriously, any ideas, i already have an answer, but im curious as to what others think.

I just thought it was funny that such a unique topic had already been thought of
