I have a domain, I tried changing the A Record to point the domain to another site which rendered all the files hosted on the domain server useless. This is the first time I've encountered this. The host site is still there, I'm just pointing the domain to a secondary site (Which is Tumblr) so why wouldn't I be able to view the uploaded files? I'm using FatCow. It's been a pain in the butt lately, I've been getting DNS errors and when I ask in Live Support they say everything looks fine. They told me that my files from my domain were not showing on Tumblr simply because I changed the A Record but I recall doing the same before and having no problem.

well, its hard to say without you fully explaining what you have done, if you have a hosted site with companyA, then you go into the configurations and change the A record to point to another website, you wont see any changes you upload to companyA as its no longer pointing to the hosted files ;)

if you just need to point your domain to tumbler, you dont need to change the A record, you just set up frame forwarding to tumbler on your host domain. is this what you are trying to do? by doing it this way, you are not affecting DNS and the Nameservers, and can easily point it back to your hosted files by removing frame forwarding.

How long ago did you change it? Even if you have done everything right it could take as long as 24 hours to propagate to all of the web servers.

Well Tumblr suggested changing the A Record. By changing the A Record, the domain acts as though Tumblr is it's main site and every page or image linked to tumblr will show up as domain.com/file/whatever, if you're referring to a redirect where you enter the URL and it takes you to Tumblr but all you see is domain.com whenever you click a link or post, that is not exactly what I was going for. I changed it last night but I switched it back because I was not pleased with not being able to link the image files hosted on FatCow to my Tumblr. They just stopped appearing.
