I have to say that last night was one of the worst nights I have ever worked! Not only was busy but there was horrible things all night long!
There was a 5 yr old boy who accidentally pulled a hot pot of beans on his lap. He has 2nd and 3rd degree burns all over his genitals. Poor baby. They tried to put a foley cath in him down there and he burned himself so bad on his personal area, that it was closed up.
There was a 8yr old that was on his bike with no helmet and hit by a car going 45 MPH. The driver fled the scene. The 8 yr old is in bad shape. All kinds of facial fxs, aortics dissection, ruptured spleen, etc.
There was a 19 yr old girl that hydroplaned and got t-boned and ejected her. She got to the ER pretty much pulseless. They got a pulse back bu after she got a head CT, realized that she is brain dead.

I could go on, but Im too tired right now. Im just glad Im off for 3 days!

I am so sorry. I hate nights like that. See, I am the one that is on the other end, I hear the calls and dispatch them, but I dont have to see them. I am thankful that I dont have to see them. Whenever we get a call about a kid, I go in freak mode.. Im like "is the ambulance enrt? Fire enrt? pd enrt? Has anyone done this or this?" LOL Your job is soo much harder. I wouldnt be able to do it.

The hardest thing was last night on the ambulance report they said "8 yr old trauma bicycle wreck, etc" They dont say if its a boy or girl.
My daughter is 8 and with her great grandparents. So, needless to say my heart is racing and Im worrying and hoping to god its not my baby girl.

At least 4 people are dead after early morning shootings in three central Arkansas cities.

In Little Rock, police are investigating a double homicide.

It happened after 4 this morning in the area of 31st and Summit Streets.

When police arrived they found one victim in the street... he was taken to the hospital and later died.

Another victim died at the scene inside of a house.

Police will only say the two men were in their late 20`s.

There`s no word so far on suspects.

In North Little Rock police are investigating the city`s tenth homicide of the year.

Around 1:30 this morning, officers were called to 23rd Street and Railroad Ave.

That`s where they found the body of 29-year old Roderick Thomas of North Little Rock in a ditch by the road.

Police don`t know how Thomas died.

His body is now at the State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

And Hot Springs police are investigating a double shooting that left one person dead.

Police were called to 429 Bower Street around 4:30 this morning.

That`s where 28-year-old William Gates was fatally shot.

A juvenile was also shot, but he is alive.

Police say they do have a suspect and plan to make an arrest later in the day.

That happened early this morning too. It never stopped my whole shift.

Wow! I can believe that stuff happening in Little Rock, but Hot Springs? That really surprises me. It was always such a nice place when I lived near there. Times change though, I guess.

Hot Springs is stil very nice. Theres just certain parts of the town that I wouldnt be caught dead in. Too scary.
Hot Springs has grown soo much in the past year or so. You probably would have a hard time recognizing it. lol

I wouldn't doubt it. I haven't been there in at least three or fours years. Hey, have you ever taken the kids to the Mid-America Museum?
