It’s important to realize that little acts of kindness can awaken life-giving hope in others.
God blesses those who give themselves in loving service to others. The reward is seldom fame or fortune. Most often it’s simply the realization that, in helping others we give them hope and we help ourselves become more truly human. We give hope to others when we show them compassion and care in their darkest of moments.
Sometimes we relay hope with a kind smile or a gentle pat on the hand. Sometimes that hope comes from our mere presence.
Here is what hope is:
Hope looks for the good in people, instead of the worst.
Hope discovers what can be done instead of grumbling about what cannot.
Hope lights candles instead of cursing the dark.
Hope pushes ahead when it might be easy to quit.
Hope opens doors where despair closes them.
Hope accepts tragedy with faith and courage.
