hmm. well this is hard for me because I don't believe than any one person is COMPLETELY gay or COMPLETELY straight. For more on that read here Kinsey scale - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Anyway, I kind of believe it has to do both with nature and nurture...I think you can naturally be predisposed to have interest in the same sex, but I also believe it's something you can choose...maybe because I don't really see myself as gay, or straight, or even bisexual. I choose to be with men and have relationships with men, but occasionally I like to mess around with girls. But I wouldn't ever be in a romantic relationship with one...its complicated to describe. But on the kinsey scale I would say I am probably a 2. Also, no matter how much you might not want to believe it, almost EVERYONE has a little bit of homo in them...MOST people have at one time had thoughts about what it would be like to get with someone of the same sex...just because you haven't acted on those thoughts, or jsut because you don't have them frequently does not mean the desire doesn't exist in your subconscious.

"Exclusively homosexual" haha

I think it has to do with fetal development. When the fetus is receiving chromosomes there could be an imbalance of them somewhere.

I think it's Nurture... There are documented cases of Identical twins where one is homosexual and the other is not. Now there is still a chance that some may be nature, but that wouldn't explain the twins.

hmm id say it doesn't have anything to do with chromosome development (that happens in meiosis before an embryo even becomes a fetus). We already know what happens when your chromosomes get screwed up..you either get an x-linked disorder (Turner's syndrome, down's syndrome, etc.) or severe disabilities caused by something called translocation (when pieces of a chromosome attach to other pieces or duplicate themselves). I'd say it has much more to do with the DNA copying process itself. Sorry i had to show off what little area of expertise I have...ok well not expertise but yeah i love cellular biology :D

I think it's mostly nurture. Even tho some people said that they knew they were gay at the age of six. I wonder at that age, if they know what sexuality is. I mean if the parents "correct" them, they would be easily adjusted. I mean if parents "discipline", educate and make the environment for them, there shouldn't be too much of a problem.

i really question the way you word things sometimes, magic. i'm just going to assume you didn't mean homosexuality as a problem. otherwise this discussion is going to degenerate pretty fast.

parents can discipline, educate, and try to control the environment around their children, but the children do have a choice. and if homosexuality is in fact genetic, then the children would be more inclined to make that choice (assuming it is a choice to be sexually attracted to the same sex).
